Track Name: Hands
Dripping softly down much like
Dry tears upon a wooden chair
A lonesome cougar finding love
Through fingers light and feelings bare
Barely passing through each day as
Garden snakes crash his parade
He knows what he will have to say
To let his heart not stop

Say, won’t you put your hands on me?
To be here with you, I feel so magical

Striding grandly out his door all
Ready for his meeting true
He longs to run his fingers through
The ruffles of his cheeks he grew
He always stays so quiet
In the midst of this great angel
Will he speak the words he needs to say
To let his heart not stop

Say, won’t you put your hands on me?
To be here with you, I feel so magical

Breathe for the moment
Wait till he’s ready
Breathe for the moment
Wait till he’s ready

Say, won’t you put your hands on me?
To be here with you, I feel so magical
Track Name: Turn Off
Frayed knots
Turn me inside out
Make me feel safe

Turn off
All my outside walls
Set me free again
Track Name: Fanfare
Let’s look back a couple ‘a days
To when I took a trip to the new cafe
I say, I could never repay you
Never take a second to move away

We locked eyes in the afternoon
I took myself for another buffoon
I opened with an awful joke
About the president looking like a beef baboon

And when it got dark
I said that i was having trouble with my car
I may have just pretended
So I could have a ride in your mercedes benz

You drove so nice,
Or perhaps my glass made me look twice
Your face looked gorgeous under the lights
Passing quiet as we drove by

I was in love!
I was in love!
I couldn’t write anything more sappy
I couldn’t write anything less sad
I was in love!
I was in love!
I couldn’t write anything more sappy
About all the times we had.

Let’s look past those couple of days
And take a little time to appreciate
The time we spent in medias res
Getting into the ways we could go next

We got back every afternoon
To have some coffee and a biscuit too
It’s true, we both had a sweet tooth
We’re a caffeinated apple and that’s the truth

And when it got dark
I took you home and we went so far
I can’t turn back it’s just the start
Thinking about just where we are

And just in time
You came and let me call you mine
And every time I call you’re sure to reply
And talk until the day goes by

I was in love!
I was in love!
I couldn’t write anything more sappy
I couldn’t write anything less sad
I was in love!
I was in love!
I couldn’t write anything more sappy
About all the times we had.

A fanfare for the husbands
A fanfare for the wives
A fanfare for the ones they’ve raised
Beginning their new lives

I was in love!
I was in love!
I couldn’t write anything more sappy
I couldn’t write anything less sad
I was in love!
I was in love!
I couldn’t write anything more sappy
About all the times we had.
Track Name: My Genre
The first time
I saw him speeding down main street
In a group of five or six tearing a hole out with their engines
I couldn’t see his face, the helmet’s in the way
But this was the best part of my day

The next time
He wore the same vest in the barbeque
His massive form in front of me imposing with a purpose
I couldn’t just go and say anything unplayed
In the rehearsals that I run through every day

Soon I found I developed this strange liking for smoked ribs
Just so I could see that rugged facial hair of his
I didn’t even think how much he’d taken up my week
Until he said he’d seen me every day here since

He plays guitar in a thrash band, I can’t say that’s my genre
Distortion on the high end, I can’t say that’s my timbre
I might sound immature, but I’m just as sure

I can’t say I don’t like him
I can’t say I don’t like him
Every time I’m with him is a treat
Like my mind is free
I can’t say I don’t like him
I can’t say I don’t like him
We’ll have to wait and see, we’ll have to wait and see
If he likes me.

In the past days
He’s introduced me to his friends
And I feel so strangely welcome in amongst his denizens
Am I one of them? There’s no way to test
If I can fit in with these men

In due time
We made a bond that can’t be broke
But part of me still worries about the things he doesn’t know, I say
How will he ever know, how far I wish to go
I’m breaking from head to toe

He plays guitar in a thrash band, I can’t say that’s my genre
Distortion on the high end, I can’t say that’s my timbre
I might sound immature, but I’m just as sure

I can’t say I don’t like him
I can’t say I don’t like him
Every time I’m with him is a treat
Like my mind is free
I can’t say I don’t like him
I can’t say I don’t like him
We’ll have to wait and see, we’ll have to wait and see
If he likes me.
Track Name: Teaching Mandolin
One day
I’ll take on the world
And if I succeed I’ll get all I deserve

One day
I’ll be higher than all of you
Floating above in my new perfect life

One day
I’ll find someone just for me
Someone who’ll wrap me up when I’m feeling sad

One day
This will all work out
This kink in my brain won’t keep me down

But now
I’ll see all that I can do
Wishing the best for those I left behind

But now
I’m stronger than all of you
I’ll persevere and I’ll keep going on

I know
I’ll have a boy teach me mandolin
Take me aboard his sermon of care

I know
That this too shall pass
I have nothing to fear I have nothing to fear
Track Name: Climax
So soft
So pure
Why don’t we go home
We will talk
And see how much I know

So young
So strong
So bold

We will eat
We will drink
We will go to bed

And see how deep I go.
Track Name: Real Boy
And after all this
I’m still just a kid on the internet
All I do is write about the men I’d like to meet
Fantasies I had one night

The only real boy I met
Was back when I was only fifteen
He was born and raised in the depths of Indiana
He always thought so highly of me.

We liked all the same poppy music
We only wanted to be held
And in that time I swear I lived a life in cartoon motion
But everything that was will melt

We talked about when we would meet
How exactly we would have our embrace
We joked about who’s taller and how we would one day lie
But I only had to see your face

Sometimes you didn’t write back
Days on end you left me dark
The only thing I wanted was a word the other way
I fear I may have tried too hard

I know that this will pass
This barrier will be brought down
One day we’ll see each other without counting all the pixels
But when that is I cannot know

One day we’ll see each other without counting all the pixels
But when that is I cannot know
